GUIDELINES FOR DEVELOPING INNOVATIVE LEADERSHIP OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN THE SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE BANGKOK 1

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the level of innovative leadership of school administrators inthe Secondary Education Service Area Office 1, and 2) to propose guidelines for developing innovative leadership among these administrators. The sample for the study comprised 59schools under the Bangkok Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1, with three informants selected from each school, consisting of 1) school directors, 2) deputy directors, and 3) teaching staff, totaling 177participants. Additionally, five experts were selected based on specific criteria using purposive sampling as key informants during interviews. The research instruments were questionnaires and interviews. The statistics used for quantitative data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis.The research findings revealed that the innovative leadership of school administrators in the Secondary Education Service Area Office 1was at a high level. An aspect with the highest mean was vision. The guidelines for developing innovative leadership amongschooladministrators were categorized into five aspects: 1) Vision: Administrators possess the knowledge and ability to analyze educational trends to establish appropriate visions, missions, and goals aligned with the strengths of the school. 2) Information Technology Utilization: Resources and facilities are allocated to enhance the use of technology in operations. 3) Creative Thinking: Administrators listen to staff opinions and support initiatives based on staff feedback. 4) Teamwork: Administrators set clear organizational goals and operational guidelines that can be effectively communicated to staff. 5) Innovative Organizational Culture: Administrators cultivate organizational values that clearly define the school's identity, guiding staff behavior.
