THE STATE AND GUIDELINES FOR GUIDANCE ACTIVITIES MANAGEMENT TO PROMOTE LIFE SKILLS OF STUDENTS IN EXPANDED SCHOOLS UNDER THE PHETCHABUN PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 3

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the current state of guidance activity management aimed at promoting life skills among students in opportunity expansion schools, and 2) to identify guidelines for managing guidance activities to enhance students’ life skills in such schools. The study was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, the current state of guidance activity management was examined. The sample consisted of 285 participants, including 17 school administrators and 268 teachers, selected through stratified random sampling based on the population proportion in each district. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire with Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) of 1.00 and a reliability coefficient of 0.95. Data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation. In the second phase, guidelines for managing guidance activities were explored using structured interviews with three selected experts. The interview instrument had a IOC of 1.00, and data were analyzed through content analysis. The findings revealed that: 1) the overall condition of guidance activity management to promote students’ life skills in opportunity expansion schools was at a moderate level, with the highest average score in the career development domain. 2) The proposed guidelines for improving guidance activities included: (1) In the academic domain, guidance activities should integrate contemplative education processes to enhance students’ thinking and problem-solving skills; (2) In the career domain, activities should assist students in identifying personal interests and selecting educational and career pathways with input from experts; and (3) In the personal and social domain, guidance should focus on fostering leadership and collaborative skills among students.
