This article aims to propose design approaches for co-working spaces within educational institutions, focusing on creating learning environments that align with the behaviors and characteristics of students in the digital age. The primary target groups are students from Generation Z, Generation Alpha, and Generation C—digital-native cohorts whose spatial usage patterns, technological expectations, and learning behaviors differ significantly from previous generations. The study is grounded in three key conceptual frameworks: The Third Place, which emphasizes the role of informal, non-home and non-school/work environments in fostering social interaction and learning communities; Human-Centered Design, which prioritizes understanding user needs and behaviors as the basis of design; and User Behavior, which explores diverse spatial practices and behavioral patterns of contemporary students. Conceptual analysis reveals the growing necessity for highly flexible co-working spaces that accommodate a range of learning activities, support collaborative knowledge exchange, stimulate creativity, and effectively integrate digital technologies. These elements are crucial for the development of future-ready university environments in 21st-century Thailand.
