About the Journal

Journal Scope
Journal of Lanna Societies provides a platform for sharing exceptional knowledge about the upper northern provinces of Thailand, collectively known as Lanna. Our aim is to present insights into Lanna society, which is rich in cultural, historical, environmental, sociological uniqueness, and provide new insights and information in Lanna Society. The topics that align with the scope of the Lanna Social Science Journal include:
     1. Buddhism in Lanna Society: The role of Buddhism in shaping the cultural and social structures of Lanna, including the study of significant temples, Buddhist festivals, and monastic traditions.
     2. Tourism on Lanna Culture: Exploration of how modern tourism affects Lanna cultural preservation, local economies, and social structures.
     3. Environmental Practices and Sustainability in Lanna: Research on traditional agricultural practices, water management, and sustainable living in Lanna communities.
     4. Culture and Learning in Lanna Society: An Examination of the Integration of Indigenous, Thai, Burmese, and Lao Influences in Lanna Culture, Including the Learning or Promotion of Education for Coexistence in a Multicultural Society.
     5. Other Topics Related to Lanna Society: Investigating the Overlapping Realms of Social, Political Sciences, public administration in Lanna.

Section Policies
     1. Research Articles: Present original findings from studies within the journal's aims and scope. Authors are encouraged to offer new insights and contribute fresh perspectives to the field. Articles should not exceed 8,000 - 10,000 words (excluding references) and must provide a thorough and detailed examination of the research topic.
     2. Academic Articles: Explore and comprehensively synthesize relevant literature in the journal's aims and scope. Articles should highlight key outcomes and provide insightful analysis of emerging trends and future directions, with a maximum length of 8,000 - 10,000 words (excluding references).

Journal Article Review Process:
     1. All academic or research articles published in the journal must undergo a review and approval process by qualified experts (Peer Review) who are specialists in the relevant field, and must not be affiliated with the same department as the authors. At least two experts in the relevant field, under a Double blind peer-reviewed.
     2. Articles accepted for publication must not have been previously published elsewhere or be under consideration by another journal. If duplicate publication is discovered, it will be the sole responsibility of the author.
     3. The content, text, illustrations, and tables published in the journal reflect the personal opinions of the authors. The editorial board does not necessarily endorse these views and bears no responsibility for them. The authors are solely responsible for their work.
     4. Articles submitted for consideration must strictly adhere to the journal's specified format.

Article Processing Charge (APC)
     This Journal is intended to cover the costs associated with peer review administration, publishing operations, archival administration, and journal management. (Effective from February 25, 2025)
     The fees are as follows:
     1. Thai-language articles: 3,500 THB (Three thousand five hundred baht). (the article passed the initial screening by the editorial team to prepare the manuscript for evaluation by experts)
     2. English-language articles: 4,500 THB (Four thousand five hundred baht). (the article passed the initial screening by the editorial team to prepare the manuscript for evaluation by experts)

Note:

  1. Authors are required to pay the publication fee according to the journal's specified rates within 7 days from the date the journal management team notifies the payment details. The journal management team will inform the authors in advance. If the fee is paid late, the article's quality assessment and publication process will be delayed accordingly.
  2. Authors must submit proof of payment via the ThaiJO system (through the article's Discussion channel). Once the journal management office confirms receipt of the payment, the article will be forwarded to reviewers for quality assessment prior to publication.
  3. If the author pays the publication fee but the article is "rejected for publication" by the reviewers or editorial board, or if the author "requests to withdraw the article", the publication fee cannot be refunded. This is because the fee covers the cost of the article's quality assessment process, and payment does not guarantee that the article will be published.
  4. The journal will charge an article processing fee in two stages:
    4.1 Thai-language articles: the article passed the initial screening by the editorial team to prepare the manuscript for evaluation by experts.
    4.2 English-language articles: the article passed the initial screening by the editorial team to prepare the manuscript for evaluation by experts.

The contents and data in published articles in the Journal of Education and Innovative Learning are considered the ideas and responsibility of the author(s). The Editorial team does not necessarily agree with any ideas or hold mutual responsibility of them. Plagiarism is not permitted, even for academic purposes. However, proper citation must be given whenever referencing the articles.
