Abstract

This academic article explores Empathetic Leadership, a crucial attribute for school administrators in an era of disruptive change and a growing emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion. The study argues that the role of an administrator extends beyond structural management, requiring leaders who can inspire and deeply connect with the emotions of their teachers, staff, and students. Through an analysis of both domestic and international academic literature, the article identifies key components of empathetic leadership, including self-awareness, self-regulation, empathetic communication, perspective-taking, flexibility, personnel empowerment, and compassionate collaboration. Furthermore, it proposes four practical strategies for cultivating this leadership style: fostering self-awareness, enhancing self-regulation, practicing deep listening skills, and applying the principles of Brahmavihara (the Four Sublime States). These strategies ultimately contribute to building trust, understanding personnel needs, and promoting the sustainable development of educational institutions.
