TEACHING TECHNIQUES FOR TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY IN THE DIGITAL AGE GUIDELINES FOR TEACHERS

This article aims to present instructional management approaches in the field of tourism and hospitality that align with the demands of the 21st century, an era characterized by rapid transformations in technology, learner behavior, and the needs of the service industry. Employing a systematic synthesis, the study identifies four key instructional techniques: (1) project-based learning, (2) technology-enhanced learning, (3) blended and flipped learning, and (4) active learning. These approaches have led to the development of the D.A.R.E. Model, which consists of four components: Digital Integration, Applied Learning, Reflective Practice, and Engagement through Blended Design. The D.A.R.E. Model represents an innovative learning framework designed to address the needs of digital-age learners, particularly in service-related fields where the development of soft skills and the creative application of technology are essential. In addition, the article introduces the D-TEACH Model, which emphasizes the holistic development of teachers’ digital competencies. These include Digital Literacy, Technology Integration, Engagement Pedagogy, Adaptive Leadership, Creativity & Innovation, and Humanized Learning. The model highlights that teachers in the digital era must simultaneously embody the roles of Educational Technologist, Instructional Designer, Teaching Innovator, and Moral Leader. Together, these roles contribute to enhancing the quality of education and fostering the sustainable development of learners in the digital age.
