Abstract
This research aimed to develop smart farm technician professional competencies and to develop a training model for smart farm technician professional competencies. The research was conducted in three phases: Phase 1 Development of smart farm technician professional competencies, Phase 2 - Development of a competency-based curriculum for smart farm technicians, and Phase 3 - Development of a training model for smart farm technician professional competencies. The research findings revealed that the developed smart farm technician professional competencies comprised a total of 5 main functions, 9 competency units, and 24 sub-competencies, as follows Main Function 1 Study the fundamentals of smart farm systems, consisting of 2 competency units 1) Study the fundamentals of smart farm systems, with sub-competencies including explaining the concepts and importance of smart farms and classifying types of smart farm systems; 2) Explain the components of smart farm systems, with sub-competencies including explaining the basic components of smart farm systems and analyzing benefits and impacts. Main Function 2Operate smart farm system tools, consisting of 2 competency units: use basic smart farm system tools and perform basic smart farm system operations. Main Function 3 Design and develop smart farm systems, consisting of 2 competency units design smart farm systems and develop smart farm systems. Main Function 4 Install smart farm systems, consisting of 2 competency units inspect readiness before installing smart farm systems and install and operate smart farm systems with sub-competencies. Main Function 5 Maintain smart farm systems, consisting of 1 competency unit: maintain smart farm systems. Regarding the development of the training model for smart farm technician professional competencies, the research findings indicated that the overall level was excellent.
Development of a Professional Competency Training Model for Smart Farm Technicians. The research findings revealed that the overall results were at an excellent level. The objective of the training model is to develop participants' competencies in alignment with the professional competencies required for smart farm technicians through flexible, appropriate processes that correspond with actual work practices. The model responds to the needs for knowledge, skills, and professional attributes necessary for efficient performance in real work situations.
