THE FUTURE SCENARIOS OF BOARDING SCHOOL EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT IN THE NEXT DECADE

This research aimed to explore the future landscape of educational management in Thai boarding schools during the next decade (2026–2035). The study focused on analyzing emerging trends in Thai society that influence education and on developing appropriate approaches for managing boarding schools to respond effectively to rapid and complex global changes. The research employed the Ethnographic Delphi Futures Research (EDFR) method, involving 20 experts with direct experience in educational administration & boarding school management. Data were collected in three rounds: in-depth interviews, structured questionnaires, and consensus confirmation. Findings revealed that the future of boarding school education should be developed across four main dimensions: strategic management, student affairs, academic affairs, and support systems. Emphasis was placed on participatory leadership, life skills and ethical development, the creative use of digital technology, and the creation of safe, supportive learning environments. Key societal trends expected to affect future boarding school operations include advancements in digital technology, shifts in family structure, and emerging social challenges. The results reflect a shared vision among experts, suggesting that boarding schools should function as a “comprehensive educational ecosystem” that fosters intellectual, ethical, and life skill development. This would prepare the next generation to navigate future uncertainties and contribute meaningfully to society.
