The Effect of leadership and community participation on the performance of village and community funds in Ban Sadet Subdistrict, Mueang Lampang District, Lampang Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the significance levels of leadership, public participation, and operational efficiency of Village and Urban Community Funds, and 2) to study the influence of leadership and public participation on the operational efficiency of Village and Urban Community Funds in Ban Sadet Sub-district, Mueang Lampang District, Lampang Province. The sample consisted of 385 members of Village and Urban Community Funds. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and simple regression analysis. The research results revealed that: 1) The leadership level of Village and Urban Community Funds had a high overall mean score, followed by operational efficiency and community participation, respectively, and 2) The influence of inspirational leadership significantly affected operational efficiency at the .01 statistical level, followed by role modeling and individualized consideration which significantly affected operational efficiency at the .05 statistical level, with the exception of intellectual stimulation which showed no significance. Finally, regarding the influence of public participation, the benefit receiving aspect significantly affected operational efficiency at the .01 statistical level, followed by implementation, decision-making, and evaluation aspects which significantly affected operational efficiency at the .05 statistical level.
