ADMINISTRATIVE COMPETENCIES OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN THE BANSANG 1 QUALITY AREA GROUP UNDER THE PRACHINBURI PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 1

Abstract

            This research aimed to: (1) study the administrative competencies of school administrators in the Ban Sang 1 Quality Area Group under the Prachinburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1; and (2) explore guidelines for developing administrative competencies among school administrators in the same area. The sample group consisted of 63 government teachers and educational personnel from schools in the Ban Sang 1 Quality Area Group. Research instruments included questionnaires and structured interviews. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.

            The research findings revealed that:

            1.The overall administrative competencies of the school administrators were at a high level. When considering individual aspects, the highest average was in goal achievement, followed by quality service, and the lowest was in staff potential development.

            2.Guidelines for enhancing the administrators' competencies include: (1) having creative thinking in school development and applying new ideas appropriately; (2) showing sincere care for stakeholders, which fosters mutual respect and strong relationships with parents, teachers, and the community; (3) possessing a clear vision in knowledge acquisition, enabling effective planning and responsiveness to community needs; (4) demonstrating confident and well-reasoned decision-making that considers the common good; (5) formulating strategic plans through participatory processes involving teachers, educational staff, parents, and the community; (6) inspiring motivation and confidence among personnel, leading to enthusiasm and collaboration; (7) being a good listener with empathy, offering advice based on understanding; and (8) having clear goals based on careful consideration of data, facts, and stakeholder input to ensure appropriateness.
