DEPORTMENT DECISIONS MADE BY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS IN THE SANTISUK GROUP UNDER THE AYUTTHAYA PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 2

Abstract

This research aimed to study 1) decision-making of school administrators in the Santisuk Group under the Office of the Primary Educational Service Area 2, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and 2) guidelines for developing decision-making behavior of school administrators in the Santisuk Group under the Office of the Primary Educational Service Area 2, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya according to the concept of Vroom and Yetton (1973, 156). The sample group was estimated by using the Crazy and Morgan table (Robert V. Krejcie, and Daryle W. Morgan.1970:608). The sample size was 97 people. The research instruments were questionnaires and structured interviews. The results of the research found that:

1. The decision-making behavior of school administrators in the Santisuk School Group, is at a high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the highest average value was that the administrators used existing information and made decisions by themselves. The second highest average value was that the administrators discussed with subordinates individually and made decisions by themselves. The lowest average value was that the administrators allowed all subordinates to participate in decision-making.
2. Guidelines for developing decision-making behavior of school administrators in the Santisuk School Group, there are multiple approaches as follows: (1) Executives study the risks before making a decision. (2) Executives decide on the alternative that can effectively solve the problems that occur in the organization. (3) Executives explain the alternatives chosen by subordinates. (4) Executives use various related rules to evaluate the information straightforwardly and carefully in every aspect. (5) Executives arrange for a line of work to discuss school administration. (6) Executives appropriately divide sub-units in the school. (7) Executives arrange for work to be done without duplication in each plan. (8) Executives brainstorm with those involved to generate various alternatives to solve problems.
