ADMINISTRATION OF THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER ACCORDING TO THE OPERATIONAL STANDARDS OF THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER OF LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATIONS LAMAE DISTRICT, CHUMPHON PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aimed to (1) study the administration of child development centers under the local administrative organizations in Lamae District, Chumphon Province, and (2) examine the guideline managing child development centers under the local administrative organizations in Lamae District, Chumphon Province. The population used in the study consisted of 6 child development center directors, 5 education officers,  8 teachers, 13 child caregivers, and 28 members of the child development center committees, totaling 60 individuals. The research instruments were a structured questionnaire and a structured interview form. The statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.

The resul of the study found that

(1) The overall administration of child development centers under the local administrative organizations in Lamae District, Chumphon Province was at a high level.

          (2) The guidelines for managing the child development centers under the local administrative organizations in Lamae District, Chumphon Province were as follows. (1) Planning was considered a key factor in successfullymanaging child development centers. (2) Child development centers were expected to have personnel properly allocated to cover all departments and responsibilities. (3) Local administrative organizations had clearly established chains of command and provided guidance to the centers to ensure administrative efficiency. (4) Local administrative organizations were expected to coordinate with local educational agencies to support development of the centers. (5) Personnel involved in the operations of child development centers were expected to have a clear understanding and shared awareness regarding the monitoring and evaluation of development and performance.
