Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present a guideline for lifelong learning development of monks novices in the 21st century found that the development of lifelong learning of monks and novices must comply with the objects of the Education Act on the Scripture Education, B.E.2562. Clearly pointed out that monks and novices in the era of educational change in the 21st century Learning methods must be adjusted to keep up with the progress of social trends in the development of lifelong learning skills processes. And according to the 20-year National Education Plan 2018-2037 with an emphasis on continuing education and lifelong learning, which is in line with the teachings of the Buddha, said that he taught monks that the roots of trees, forests, and caves deserve for lifelong learning in order to extinguish defilements and develop wisdom. It points out that lifelong learning must be studied until one attains an Arahatship. But if he did not attains the status of an arahant, he is called a monk. That is, he must learn for lifelong to end suffering, increase his wisdom in learning new sciences all the time, to develop himself and apply the knowledge for the benefit of oneself and the society.
