Abstract

Academic article on Monks and politics: when Phra Maha Sawat Kowito of Khlong Khru Temple (Pattawikorn) was imprisoned for being a communist, and was studied from documents, research and interview interviews. Then, write an essay in the form of an academic article. The results of the study revealed that public issues of monks and politics are still debated and clearly define how much and how as for the monks who were imprisoned in the context of Thai politics. There were many monks, including Phra Phimontham (Aj Asapa), Phra Mahanakhon, Khempali and many others during that time including Mahasawat Kowito, the abbot of Khlong Khru Temple (Pattawikorn), this is another monk who used to go to prison with political issues during the age of authoritarianism, the barrel of a gun, even after coming out of prison ready to return to confirm his status as a monk in Buddhism ready to remain committed to working for religion until the end of his life today. However, the will and determination from that found have been passed on to the ideology of the monks for Buddhism as shown in the next generation of religious descendants.
