Abstract

The purpose of this article was to analyze creative tourism and value-based cultural learning in the Republic of Korea, linking field lessons with the Six Dimensions of Anuttariya in Buddhism. The analysis focuses on the role of these principles in learning, particularly in the context of tourism that fosters a deep understanding of local cultural values and heritage. The six dimensions of learning are as follows: 1. Supreme Sight: This dimension of learning refers to the genuine experience of seeing and immersing in local culture. It enables learners to deeply understand and evaluate the values embedded in the traditions, art, and lifestyle of the local people. 2. Supreme Hearing: Learning through listening to knowledgeable figures and cultural leaders fosters a sense of connection with the culture and intellectual heritage of the community. 3. Supreme Gain: This dimension of learning refers to the opportunity to receive valuable experiences, promoting the development of one's mind and faith in the significance of the culture being studied. 4. Supreme Training: It represents a deep learning approach focused on discipline and mental development, which can be applied to daily life and continuous learning. 5. Supreme Service: Learning through service or assisting the community helps build positive relationships and understanding of the value of cooperation and mutual support. 6. Supreme Memory: This dimension involves learning through recalling past experiences and knowledge, serving as a guide for personal and societal development. It helps connect past and present knowledge, making learning sustainable and meaningful. By integrating these six dimensions of Anuttariya, creative tourism promotes profound learning experiences that contribute to both self-development and a deeper understanding of cultural values.
