"Duet for two cats" for trumpet and trombone, is a transcription from an original composition for Soprano's duet. It featured an imitation of the cat's voices throughout the piece. For this version, the performing technique with Harmon-mutes will be used to imitate the sound of cat's voices. This study aims to develop knowledge and develop performance skills to be able to convey a musical perfectly. Therefore, the study of the components of music is necessary and can divided into five topics: 1. Musical background; 2. Analysis of the piece's structure; 3. Performing Techniques; 4. Preparation and equipment for the performing; 5. Interpretation for music performance.
The study reveals necessary skills for both the trumpet and the trombone performers. The combination of musical performances and acting helps audiences to understand the meaning for the piece and to earn more enjoyment. This piece can be an educational piece or a great alternative to improving your public performance skills.
