Scholarly article is an analysis of Stuart Clayton’s electric bass solo arrangement technique for the song “Nothing Else Matters” of Metallica.There are composition by electric bass 4 string, 24 fret with standard tune. But choosing technique chordal fingerstyle, hammer on, pull-off, slide, harmonic, artificial harmonics, tapping, slap and pop, strum chord, ghost note and bending technique. Arrangement of Stuart Clayton, resulted in electric bass instrument being able to change roles from simply controlling the rhythm to playing all genres of sound, including melody, harmonics, chords and bass, similar to playing with a classical guitar, finger style guitar or piano.
