Music Teachers and Children’s Right to Protection

Abstract

Children’s right to protection is essential for everyone including music teachers. Music teachers should cherish their own students’ right to protection, behave as the proper teachers and know fundamental laws regarding children’s right. This would increase music teachers’ teaching performance in a safe and suitable way and allow the teachers to gain trust from parents. Teachers’ ethics is also a topic to focus on. Due to easy access to the internet nowadays, there is a risk in misusing online resources in teaching or sharing inappropriate video clips regarding music teaching. As the music teachers, apart from being role models for students, the teachers are also expected to ensure students’ safety and right in educational institutions or schools of music. Online resources are expected to be applied appropriately for both teachers and students.
