Guidelines on Kru Pim Poungnak's Thai Classical Music Scores to Digital Files

Abstract

The objective of the academic article was to show the development of musical score as in the  Thai music transcripts which was handwritten recorded by Pim Poungnak, to digital document file including the method of musical instrument classification and storage for organizing into groups according to the types of music.

          Pim Poungnak is the important person in the circle of Thai and International music. He was able to write and read Thai and international musical notation immediately, and he used the technique of recording musical notation by listening. In his sunset years, he was more interested in recording Thai musical notation and added them for many songs in Thai musical circle. After his passing, Ms. Usanee Puangnak, his daughter, presented musical notation transcripts to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Then, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn gave them to Sirindhorn Music Library. The researcher has developed musical notation transcripts by classifying for the types of music and musical instruments, then synthesized, developed to digital file as divided into a single instrument, and gathered all instruments for the new record in Full Score Form.

          This academic article was to show thinking process and arrangement by using each of international musical instrument, and being able to develop or guideline for the person who would like to write Thai and International musical instrument.
