SUMHUA Concert: The Process Behind the First Concert Organised by the Thailand Higher Education Music Student Network

Abstract

The study of The Process behind the First Concert Organised by the Thailand Higher Education Music Student Network is a participatory action research. The objectives are to study the process and organisation of the concert entitled “SUMHUA Concert: Roekngan (Auspicious)” which corresponded with the idea of PDCA method in the second phase of study; to summarise the outcome of 1) artistic and stage management 2) budget and secretary and 3) evaluation by analysing.

The study demonstrates that PDCA method was the central practice in the management of this concert, and there were also other procedures such as the distribution of responsibilities, plan development, and co-ordination establishment to ensure the efficient organisation leading to the concert. According to the satisfaction survey, the effectiveness of the concert is at “Good” level with the mean of 4.08; the audience satisfaction is at “Good” level with the mean of 4.44 out of 5. The process leading to the Concert of THEMSN demonstrated the practice of PDCA management method and the structured and organised procedure. The second-year activity of THEMSN will be hosted by College of Music, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University as the developing idea of sustainability.
