Transmission Process in Jakae of Kru Chairat Weerachai

Abstract

This research aims to study the process of transmission and the identity of the Ja-Khae performance from Teacher Chairat Weerachai. By using qualitative research methods combined with concepts of music education. It was used to collect information from interviews and participate in observations by Teacher Chairat Weerachai and those who have transferred knowledge.

          The finding of the process of transmission and the identity of the Ja-Khae performance from Teacher Chairat Weerachai divided into four sides 1) Instructor: Teacher Chairat Weerachai has knowledge, ability, and a uniqueness in performance that has been passed down from ancient teachers to behave as a good role model for disciples. There is a commitment and determination to convey the knowledge that has been conveyed. 2) Learners: The learners who would receive knowledge from Chairat Weerachai did not need to have intense playing skills but must love music and have determination, in which all learners will be adjusted to the basics of playing from the beginning. and developed according to the potential of each learner. 3) Content: Teacher Chairat Weerachai will focus mainly on the development of basic skills. And there are exercises for self-study learners. 4) Teaching: Teacher Chairat Weerachai would use a teaching method in which the instructor would act as an example and let the learners follow. Learners practice repeatedly until they become proficient. There is a self-assessment from both classmates and teachers.
