The Role of Music in Thai-German Relations Under Track II Diplomacy

Abstract

This article aims to study the role of music as a tool for strengthening relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Federal Republic of Germany under the framework of Track II Diplomacy. The research methodology involves interviews and field data collection to gain practical insights. The findings indicate that music serves as an effective medium for fostering people-to-people connections through musical cultural exchange activities. These initiatives help bridge cultural gaps and establish strong relationships beyond formal government diplomacy. Field experiences reflect that Thai–German musical cooperation is not merely an aesthetic exchange but also a vital strategy for creating a flexible and sustainable diplomatic space.
