Guidelines for Creating a Collection of Songs According to the Concept of Kodaly to Develop Basic Singing Skills for the Elderly Person

Abstract

The objective of this article is intended to present guidelines of creating a collection of songs for use in learning and teaching of vocal skills in basic level to proper with elderly person. It consists of 4 songs by designing the main melody according to the Kodaly reading system, which is a system manage guideline which the content is arranged in order of ease to hardness to create a learning process and develop listening and singing skills in a gradual way. There are formats and methods of teaching such as start listening and singing notes with SOL and LA, starting from 2 notes in 3^rd minor interval and increase the number of notes more and more accordingly until completed Pentatonic scales into Major scales together with the method of singing along with hand symbols to represent the pitch include inserting the skills and techniques of singing at the basic level such as phrasing breathing, clear pronunciation of singing, conveying emotions according to the meaning of the song through facial expression, independent movement. For enhancing personality, assertiveness and promote health in the field of memory form remembering of pitch, hand symbols and lyrics
