The Study of Ensemble Technique of Million Wind Philharmonic

Abstract

The research article “The Study of Ensemble Technique of Million Wind Philharmonic” is a bachelor’s degree research of Education Program in Western Music Education that aims to study the ensemble technique of Million Wind Philharmonic, with a research population of 1 music director, 11 members, by using an interview form as the research tool.

          The findings revealed that 1) the music director wishes to plan how to manage the system within the band and prepare for music rehearsal, score study, a study of musical instruments in the music, sound, and establish clear goals for members to have rehearsal. If a problem arises during rehearsal, it should be resolved by clarifying with the principal section. Following that, the principal must then correct it with the section. The music director has internal management responsibilities that help the band develop. 2) The members require several factors to be considered: listening to music before rehearsal, individual skill practice, understanding the section’s role in the band, and having to listen in the ensemble. If a problem arises while performing the practice, it must be resolved as soon as possible. Everyone in the band must adjust to other musicians who have never played together before, and all sections must work well together during rehearsals. However, if all musicians adhere to the skills of an ensemble technique, the ensemble will develop.
