Music Activities for Developing Executive Function Skills for Early Childhood

Early childhood is a golden period for preparing and developing basic skills. The skills those are crucial for children learning and developing other life skills.
The frontal lobe of the brain controls executive function skills. Theses skills are essential for the cognitive process, emotional control, actions, and behavior for success. Music is one of important components that are used for developing early childhood skills and executive functions.
This article aims to present knowledge of executive functions, its definition and basic elements. Moreover, it includes activity ideas, which suitable, for kids at the age of 6 months to 5 years, that pre-school teachers and music teachers can use as a guideline to create the executive function activities.
