Poems and Melodies of Lam Khonsawan Performing arts in Sawannakhet Province Laos People's Democratic Republic

Abstract

This study aimed at analyzing : 1) analyzing the song text of lam khon sawan; and 2) analyzing melodic pattern of lam khon sawan.  By collecting field data and collecting data from interviews and observations And analyze the data by presenting the descriptive analysis style.The results of the analysis shown that : 1) the song text of lam khon sawan was written in klon yoen poetry of 3 parts consisting of ;   (1) Introduction (2) Main Body (3) Concluding Section. In many poems there are 4 paragraphs. Each paragraph has  7-12 syllables. Musically, each line contained 4 steady beats or pulses Each beats has no more than 3 syllables. 2) Melodies of Lam Khonsawan is formed by the pronunciation of the words in the poem Lam combined with the high and low tones from the tone that directs the words in each paragraph. The short and the length of the word therefore create a rhythm in the melodic pattern of Lam.
