The Development of Creativity in Children with Autism Through Learning Management Using Carl Orff Conceptual Music Activities

Abstract

This research has the following purposes: 1) To compare the creativity of children with autism before and after learning using music activities based on Carl Orff's concept. And 2) To study the satisfaction of children with autism towards the learning management by using music activities based on Carl Orff's concept. The population used in this study were students of the Educational Center for Special Children at primary school level at Ramkhamhaeng University Demonstration School (Elementary Level) of 27 students, Using the method of selecting a purposive sample. The instruments of research are Learning plan using music activities based on Orff's concept and a test of Creativity for children with autism before and after learning. Data were analyzed using mean (), standard deviation (S.D.) statistics and dependent t-test techniques were also used by the instructor. The results of this research indicated that the creativity of children with autism after learning management by using music activities based on Orff's concept was higher than before learning and significant at .05 level.
