ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION TOWARDS EXCELLENCE BASED ON THE PRINCIPLES OF THE FOUR BASES OF IDDHIPADA
Keywords:
Academic administration, Academic excellence, Ittibat 4, Strategic management, Transformational leadershipAbstract
Academic administration serves as a crucial mechanism for enhancing educational quality and effectively driving educational institutions toward excellence. This academic article aims to analyze and propose approaches for academic administration toward excellence through the integration of Buddhist principles, specifically the Four Bases of Psychic Power (Iddhipāda), which include chanda (desire/aspiration) for promoting love for the teaching profession among teachers and administrators, viriya (effort/energy) for stimulating self-development and commitment to goals, citta (mind/consciousness) for fostering participation and shared responsibility, and vimamsa (investigation/wisdom) for creating processes for continuous evaluation and development. These principles are integrated with educational administration theories and concepts such as Systems Theory, Transformational Leadership Theory, and Strategic Management.
The analysis reveals that the Four Bases of Psychic Power can be effectively applied as a conceptual framework for quality academic administration. The integration of these Buddhist principles with academic administration results in enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in educational management, leading to excellence in students, personnel, and the organization as a whole.
