Factors affecting public confidence in traffic safety police performance : A case study of Songkhla City Police Station

Abstract

This research is a quantitative research (quantitative research), health research, descriptive correlation research (Descriptive Correlational Research), study for 1. To study the level of public confidence in the performance of traffic police in Mueang Songkhla District. 2. To study the relationship between personal factors and public confidence in the performance of traffic police in Songkhla City District. 3. To study the relationship between behavior and experience and the public's confidence in the performance of traffic police in Songkhla City District. 4. To compare public confidence in traffic police performance between residential subdistricts 5. To propose guidelines for development and improvement of traffic police performance. The sample group used in this research was people in the area of ​​Bo Yang Subdistrict and Khao Rup Chang Subdistrict Ko Taeo Subdistrict, Pha Wong Subdistrict, Thung Wang Subdistrict, and Ko Yo Subdistrict, Mueang Songkhla District, Songkhla Province, totaling 398 people. The research methodology consists of 1.Study concepts, theories, and principles from books, documents, and research related to factors that influence public confidence in traffic police safety measures to provide guidelines Creating questionnaire questions 2. Draft the questionnaire and questions according to the conceptual framework for this research. 3. Submit the draft questionnaire to your advisor for consultation and verification. The appropriateness and accuracy of the content is called an Expert Review or content validity check The research instrument was a questionnaire. The analysis was done using descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and inferential statistics.

          The research results found that (1) The public's confidence in the performance of traffic police is at a high level in all aspects (average higher than 3.41) (2) The only personal factor affecting the confidence in the performance of duties of traffic police is the vehicle used (3) People living in different sub-districts have no different impact on their confidence in the performance of traffic police duties. (4) Different experiences of being stopped by the police have different effects on the confidence of traffic police in performing their duties. (5) Development guidelines proposed by the public include increasing transparency, fairness and developing communication skills of traffic police the research recommendations are that transparency and fairness should be emphasized, including training of officers in communicating with the public to enhance confidence and cooperation in sustainable traffic management.
