When Education Hurts Me
Main Article Content
Abstract
The education system serves as a fundamental foundation for social and economic development. However, pressure from intense competition can negatively affect students’ mental health. Dealing with exam stress, parental expectations, and uncertainties about the future can lead to anxiety and depression. While a certain level of stress can enhance motivation, excessive stress may result in negative consequences. Solutions to this issue should include support from families and schools, improvements in the education system to ensure balance, and the development of stress management skills. Additionally, non-formal learning, such as self-education, educational technology, and workplace training, helps cultivate skills that traditional systems may not fully address. Technologies like automated learning and virtual reality enhance interactive learning experiences. However, challenges remain regarding equitable access to technology, maintaining educational standards, and ethical data usage. Therefore, education must adapt to the evolving world to achieve a balance between knowledge development and students’ mental well-being.
