The necessity of academic administration of educational personnel Under the Office of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Educational Service Area 1

Abstract
This study aimed to examine the needs for academic administration among educational personnel under the Office of Prachuap Khiri Khan Primary Educational Service Area 1, and to compare needs by gender, educational qualification, and work experience. The sample consisted of 385 administrators and personnel, selected using Taro Yamane’s sampling method. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Scheffé’s method. Findings revealed that overall needs for academic administration were at a high level (X̄ = 4.65, SD = 0.52). The highest need was for assessment and evaluation, followed by curriculum and learning process development, and educational research, while supervision was rated lowest but still relatively high. Differences were found by educational qualification, with higher-degree holders reporting greater needs, whereas gender and work experience showed no significant differences.
The results highlight the importance of strengthening assessment systems, curriculum development, and research, as well as improving supervision practices toward a supportive and coaching approach to enhance educational quality sustainably.
