The development of information technology skills for educational personnel under the office of the basic education commission

Abstract

   The study aimed to 1) examine the level of demand for developing information technology skills among educational personnel under the Office of the Basic Education Commission, and 2)compare the level of demand for developing information technology skills among educational personnel in terms of computer skills, communication systems, and network technology. The sample group used in the study consisted of 52 educational personnel, determined by applying the Krejcie and Morgan table for sample size. The tool used for data collection was a Likert-scale questionnaire created by the researchers, which had a consistency index ranging from 0.60 to 1.00 and an overall reliability score of 0.99. Statistical methods employed for data analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, F-test, and pairwise comparison using Scheffe's method.

The findings revealed that 1)The respondents' development of information technology skills among educational personnel under the Office of the Basic Education Commission was, on average, at a moderate level overall. When considering individual aspects, arranged by average score from highest to lowest, the majority were in computer skills, followed by communication systems, and lastly, network technology 2)The overall level of demand for developing information technology skills showed no significant differences. However, when examined individually, educational personnel demonstrated significantly different computer skills at the 0.05 statistical level.
