DEVELOPMENT OF MULTIMEDIA FOR ENHANCING LEARNING ON INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE REGARDING RETENTION AND GRADUATION RATES FOR UNIVERSITY SUPPORT STAFF

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) design and develop multimedia learning materials to enhance understanding of internal quality assurance in higher education, focusing on student retention and graduation rates; (2) examine learning outcomes before and after the use of multimedia; and (3) assess the satisfaction of support staff with the multimedia learning materials. A mixed methods research design was employed with a target group consisting of 10 support staff members from Ratchaphruek University. The independent variable was the developed multimedia, which included videos, still images, and text-based content. The dependent variables were the participants’ learning outcomes and their satisfaction with the multimedia. The research instruments included: (1) the multimedia learning materials, and (2) data collection tools such as pre- and post-tests, a satisfaction questionnaire, and in-depth interviews. The results revealed that: (1) the developed multimedia successfully integrated visual and textual elements to support learning on retention and graduation rates; (2) post-test scores were higher than pre-test scores, indicating improved understanding after the use of the multimedia; and (3) participants expressed high levels of satisfaction, with an overall average score of 4.50. The findings suggest that well-designed multimedia can serve as an effective tool to enhance the understanding and learning of university support staff in the context of internal quality assurance.
