EFFECTS OF HEALTH EDUCATION LEARNING MANAGEMENT USING GROWTH MINDSET CONCEPTS ON DESIRABLE SEXUAL BEHAVIORS AND RESPECTFULNESS OF UPPER SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

This study is a quasi-experimental research aimed at: 1) comparing the mean scores of desirable sexual behavior and respect before and after the intervention for the experimental and control groups; and 2) comparing the mean scores of desirable sexual behavior and respect after the intervention between the experimental and control groups. The sample was selected using purposive sampling and simple random sampling by lottery. It consisted of 60 students from a high school under the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), in the 11th grade of secondary school for the first semester of the 2022 academic year. The sample was divided into two groups: the experimental group, which included 30 students receiving instruction based on the Growth Mindset Concept Framework, and the control group, which included 30 students receiving regular instruction. The research employed eight lesson plans for health education based on the Growth Mindset Concept Framework, with a content validity index of 0.87. Data were collectedusing two measurement tools: one for assessing desirable sexual behavior and one for assessing respect, with content validity indices of 0.94 and 1.00, respectively. The reliability coefficients for these tools were 0.86 and 0.79, respectively.
