Abstract

education and analyze its application in the Thai context. Core principles such as respect for the child, the absorbent mind, sensitive periods, the prepared environment, and auto-education are highlighted. The Montessori approach places the child at the center of learning, allowing them to choose activities based on their interests and to learn through hands-on experience. This fosters holistic development in physical, emotional, social, and cognitive domains. Although some schools in Thailand have adopted Montessori methods with promising results, widespread implementation faces challenges including limited teacher training, misconceptions among parents, inadequate resources, and misaligned assessment systems. The article proposes strategies such as teacher training, domestic production of learning materials, and the integration of Montessori principles into national early childhood education policy. These efforts aim to support sustainable development and adapt the Montessori approach to the Thai educational context.
