FACTORS AFFECTING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION IN SCHOOLS UNDER THE PHITSANULOK PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 3

Abstract

This study aimed to 1) study the levels of factors affecting to effectiveness of academic administration of schools, 2) investigate the levels of factors influencing the effectiveness of academic administration of schools, 3) explore the relationship between the influencing factors and the effectiveness of academic administration, and 4) develop a predictive equation for factors affecting the effectiveness of academic administration. The sample consisted of 302 participants, including 26 school administrators and 276 teachers, from schools under the Office of Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area 3. The sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan’s sampling table, and stratified random sampling was applied based on the proportion of teachers in each school group. Data were collected using a questionnaire on factors Affecting the effectiveness of academic administration in schools under the Office of Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area 3. The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The research found that; 1) the overall level of effectiveness in academic administration was rated as high in all aspects, 2) the overall level of factors influencing the effectiveness of academic administration was also rated as high in all aspects, 3) there was a statistically significant positive correlation (p < .05) between the influencing factors and the effectiveness of academic administration, and 4) The stepwise multiple regression coefficients indicated that three factors significantly influenced the effectiveness of academic administration in schools under the Office of Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area 3 at the .05 level of statistical significance. These factors were: adequacy of educational media and innovations (X₅), budgetary support (X₃), and academic leadership of administrators (X₁). These variables collectively predicted the effectiveness of academic administration with statistical significance, yielding a multiple correlation coefficient of  R = 0.942 and a coefficient of determination of R² = 88.64.
