Peer Review Process

Peer Review Policy

1.Review Process Overview

All manuscripts submitted to Asian Arts and Society Journal are subject to a rigorous double-blind peer review process. This means that both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous throughout the review.

2.Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, each manuscript is first reviewed by the editorial team to ensure it meets the journal’s scope, formatting requirements, and basic academic standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.

3.Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are forwarded to  independent expert reviewers. Reviewers are selected based on their subject expertise and publication record in relevant fields.

During the double-blind process:

- Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors.

- Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.

4.Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

- Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.

- Evaluate the originality, relevance, methodology, and scholarly value of the manuscript.

- Declare any potential conflicts of interest.

- Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript content.

5.Review Outcomes

Based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the editorial team will make one of the following decisions:

- Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication without changes.

- Minor Revision: The manuscript requires small changes before acceptance.

- Major Revision: Substantial changes are needed; the revised manuscript may be sent for another round of review.

- Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in this journal.

Authors will be notified of the decision, along with anonymized reviewer comments.

6. Ethical Review Compliance

Authors are required to comply with all applicable research ethics guidelines, including obtaining necessary ethics approval for studies involving human subjects, artworks, or interviews.

7. Reviewer Anonymity and Recognition

The journal keeps reviewer identities strictly confidential.
