DEVELOPMENT OF ANALYTICAL READING SKILLS THROUGH AI-BASED LEARNING MANAGEMENT FOR GRADE 9 STUDENTS AT PHOTAK PITTAYAKHOM SCHOOL, NONG KHAI PROVINCE

This research aimed to (1) investigate the problems, needs, and guidelines for developing analytical reading skills through Artificial Intelligence (AI); (2) develop an AI-based learning management model to enhance analytical reading skills; and (3) examine the effectiveness of the developed model. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach consisting of three phases: problem and needs analysis, model development, and model implementation. The key informants in Phase 1 consisted of 17 participants, while the experimental group in Phase 3 included 30 Grade 9 students from Photak Pittayakhom School, Nong Khai Province. The research instruments included semi-structured interview forms, document analysis forms, focus group discussion records, lesson plans, an analytical reading skills test, a learning achievement test, and a satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using content analysis, percentage, mean, standard deviation, instructional efficiency (E₁/E₂), and the dependent samples t-test.
The findings revealed that: (1) students demonstrated limitations in analytical reading skills, while teachers and school administrators agreed that AI could effectively support learning management; (2) the AIRA Model was developed, comprising five learning stages, and was evaluated by experts as having the highest level of quality (x̄ = 4.85, S.D. = 0.21); and (3) the developed model achieved an efficiency of 84.63/86.74, exceeding the established criterion of 80/80. Students' learning achievement and analytical reading skills after the intervention were significantly higher than before the intervention at the .05 level. Overall student satisfaction was at the highest level (x̄ = 4.76, S.D. = 0.28). These findings indicate that integrating AI into learning management effectively enhances students' learning achievement and analytical reading skills.
