Development and Evaluation of a Website and Content Management System for the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University

Introduction: This research aims to develop a website and content management system for the Department of Computer Science to improve the efficiency of information management and dissemination in a more convenient, rapid, and systematic manner. The system supports various types of content, including news, research publications, personnel information, academic programs, and activities, as well as multiple user roles such as administrators and lecturers.
Methodology: The system was developed using three-tier architecture and RESTful APIs to enhance flexibility, with React for front-end development, Golang for back-end services, and a relational database for data management. Authentication and authorization mechanisms were also implemented to ensure secure access control. Moreover, the system's usability was evaluated through usability testing with 16 participants, including general users, students, and lecturers.
Results: The overall satisfaction score was 4.13 out of 5.00, indicating a good level. In addition, website performance was evaluated using Google Lighthouse across 12 web pages, yielding an average score of 72.83 out of 100, corresponding to a moderate level of performance. The findings demonstrate that the developed system effectively supports departmental information management, enhances content administration, and improves user accessibility. Future work may focus on further improving system performance and user experience.
