A Study of the Community and the Application of Local Wisdom for Sustainable Development in Ingong Sub-district Chaturaphak Phiman District Roi Et Province

Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to study the community context of Ingong Sub-district Chaturaphak Phiman District Roi Et Province and 2. to analyze the approaches for applying local wisdom in the communities of Ingong Sub-district Chaturaphak Phiman District Roi Et Province. This a qualitative research The research instrument was an interview form. The target group consisted of 10 residents from the communities in Ingong Subdistrict, Roi Et Province, selected through purposive sampling. The data collected from relevant documents and interviews were analyzed using content analysis. Research Findings 1) The study of the community context in Ingong Sub-district Chaturaphak Phiman District Roi Et Province revealed that it consists of the following aspects 1.1) Geographical context 1.2) Socio-cultural context 1.3) Economic context 1.4) Educational and public health context 1.5) Environmental context 1.6) Local tourism context and 2) The guidelines for the application of local wisdom in the Ingong community were found to include 2.1) Guidelines on safe and sufficient agriculture 2.2) Guidelines on handicrafts and traditional weaving wisdom 2.3) Guidelines on cultural and traditional conservation 2.4) Guidelines on the development of local historical learning resources and 2.5) Guidelines on the use of herbal medicine and indigenous health knowledge.
