A Study of the Community and the Application of Local Wisdom in Rattanawaree Sub-district Hua Taphan District Amnat Charoen Province

This research consists purposes were 1. to study the community context of Rattanawaree Sub-district Hua Taphan District Amnat Charoen Province and 2. to explore approaches for applying local wisdom within the community of Rattanawaree Sub-district Hua Taphan District Amnat Charoen Province. This research employed a qualitative approach, using interviews as the primary research instrument. The target group consisted of 15 community members from Rattanawaree Sub-district Hua Taphan District Amnat Charoen Province selected through purposive sampling. Data collected from documents and interviews were analyzed using content analysis. The research findings revealed that The contextual aspects of Rattanawaree Sub-district consist of 1.1) geographical context 1.2) social and cultural context 1.3) economic context 1.4) educational and public health context 1.5) environmental context and 1.6) community tourism context The approaches for applying local wisdom in the community can be classified into six dimensions 2.1) Safe and sufficient agriculture applying local agricultural wisdom through integrated farming and chemical-free practices 2.2) Handicrafts and weaving wisdom developing and extending traditional weaving, such as silk, cotton and local textiles, by integrating traditional patterns with contemporary designs 2.3) Cultural and traditional conservation continuously organizing local cultural events such as the Rocket Festival (Bun Bang Fai), Bun Khao Pradap Din and Buddhist Lent traditions, with an emphasis on youth participation through experiential learning 2.4) Local historical learning resources surveying and documenting historical sites, such as ancient temples, archaeological remains and cultural landmarks, to develop them as educational and tourism resources 2.5) Herbal medicine and folk health wisdom collecting knowledge on local medicinal plants, traditional remedies, household herbal medicines and indigenous massage practices to create manuals or databases and 2.6) Promotion of cultural tourism in rural communities developing cultural tourism routes that integrate lifestyle experiences, such as weaving demonstrations, local cuisine workshops, and participation in traditional festivals, to attract both domestic and international tourists.
