Abstract

The objectives of this research article are: 1) to analyze the cultural adaptation strategies of human resources from diverse cultural backgrounds in Chachoengsao Province, and 2) to propose guidelines for developing and supporting cultural adaptation among human resources in this area. The key informants included 12 foreign workers (4 each from Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos), as well as 8 managers and related executives, making a total of 20 participants working in Chachoengsao Province, selected through purposive sampling. The research tools consisted of semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions, with data analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The findings revealed that foreign workers in Chachoengsao adapted effectively in all dimensions of the CQ theory, including: 1) workers were aware of cultural differences and adapted well to new work environments; 2) those with deep knowledge of Thai and local culture adapted even better; 3) workers with strong motivation to adapt were more successful and satisfied with their jobs; and 4) adjusting behavior according to cultural contexts helped workers collaborate more efficiently with others.
