THE INTEGRATION OF CONCEPT OF DHAMMARAJA WITH COUNTRY ADMINISTRATION

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study concept of Dhammaraja according to Buddhism principles, and 2) to integrate concept of Dhammaraja with country administration. This research was a qualitative research by focusing on studying intensively in Tripitaka and in–depth interview. The results were analyzed and rewritten in a descriptive form.

The results revealed as follows; Concept of Dhammaraja was divided in to 2 types; 1. The Dhammaraja concept in the religious aspect, and the concept of Dhammaraja in the mundane aspect. According to the religious aspect, it referred to the ‘Buddha’ since he had the complete moral qualities or goodness. However, in the mundane aspect, it generally referred to the best governor with goodness. Besides, this governor integrated his goodness with administration. Therefore, the integration of concept of Dhammaraja in country administration was divided in to 6 ways as follows; 1) concept of Dhammaraja and the administration, consisted of 1. Elementary level which had to focus on the good leader qualities, 2) Intermediate level, which had to follow Buddhist doctrines in order to be the concept of higher administration, and 3) Higher level, which needed to focus on people creation in order to have concept of Dhammaraja in their mind to integrate in all levels of administration. 2. The leadership and concept of Dhammaraja consisted of focusing on selfdevelopment to become a good governor, focusing on developing people both their behavior, mind, and wisdom as well as focusing on developing the social overview. 3. The good governor’s experience and the leader generally consisted of placing importance on Buddhist concept, practical ways, and also legal and traditional processes. 4. The concept of Dhammaraja with leader’s qualities normally consisted of to be a good role model of good leader, good governor condition as well as the ways of thinking of the good leader. 5. The concept of Dhammaraja confidence by creating Dhammaraja concept in people’s mind. Also, it was important to believe in Dhammaraja concept’s objectives and integrate it in the practical ways. 6. The ways to propagate concept of Dhammaraja consisted of knowledge construction both integration and creation of organization realization.
