The 21st Century Skills of School Administrator Affecting Information Technology Management of Schools under Samutprakan Primary Educational Service Area Office

Abstract

The descriptive research objectives are to study: 1) the level of 21^st century management skills of school administrators, 2) the level of information technology management in schools, and 3) the 21^st century management skills of school administrators affecting on information technology management in schools under the Samut Prakan Primary Educational Service Area Office 2. The sample consisted of 297 school administrators and teachers selected from a population of 1,259 persons by using stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire with an overall reliability score of 0.929. The data were analyzed using statistical methods such as percentage, mean, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The research findings revealed that: 1) the overall level of 21^stcentury management skills of school administrators in schools under the Samut Prakan Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 was high, with the highest average score in relationship building, followed by analytical and creative thinking, while the lowest average score was in vision setting; 2) the overall level of information technology management in schools under the Samut Prakan Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 was high, with the highest average score in learning resource management, followed by internal management, while the lowest average score was in infrastructure; and 3) the 21st century management skills of school administrators significantly affected information technology management in schools under the Samut Prakan Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, with a multiple regression coefficient of 0.806. The most influential factors in predicting IT management were the use of technology and digital tools, vision setting, and relationship building. These factors significantly impacted IT management at the .01 significance level, predicting 64.50% of the variance in IT management in schools.
