Abstract

This research consists purposes were to investigate the level of solid waste management in Ban Kham Riang Community Village No.1 Kham Riang Sub-district Kantharawichai District Maha Sarakham Province. A quantitative research design was employed. The research instrument was a structured questionnaire. The sample comprised 227 residents of Ban Kham Riang Community Village No.1 Kham Riang Sub-district Kantharawichai District Maha Sarakham Province. The sample size was determined using Taro Yamane’s (1973) formula with a 0.05 margin of error and the participants were selected through accidental sampling. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentage, mean and standard deviation. The findings indicated that the overall level of solid waste management in the community was high (x̄ = 4.07, S.D. = 0.75). The five highest-rated aspects, ranked in descending order according to their mean scores, were as follows 1) adequate provision of waste bins at key locations throughout the community (x̄ = 4.38, S.D. = 0.58) 2) residents’ cooperation in maintaining community cleanliness (x̄ = 4.35, S.D. = 0.61) 3) regular collection of solid waste within the community (x̄ = 4.31, S.D. = 0.64) 4) community leaders’ commitment to solid waste management (x̄ = 4.27, S.D. = 0.66) and 5) continuous community campaigns aimed at reducing the volume of solid waste (x̄ = 4.24, S.D. = 0.68), respectively.
