A Study of the Problems and Needs of the Community in Ban Dong Kheng Noi Por Phan Sub-district Mueang Roi Et District Roi Et Province

Abstract

This research consists purposes were 1. to investigate the problems faced by the residents of Ban Dong Kheng Noi, Village No. 6 Por Phan Sub-district Mueang Roi Et District Roi Et Province and 2. to examine the needs of the community in Ban Dong Kheng Noi Village No. 6 Por Phan Sub-district Mueang Roi Et District Roi Et Province. This study employed a qualitative research approach. The research instrument was a semi-structured interview. The target group consisted of 20 community members residing in Ban Dong Kheng Noi Village No. 6, Por Phan Sub-district Mueang Roi Et District Roi Et Province who were selected through purposive sampling. Data collected from relevant documents, literature and semi-structured interviews were analyzed using content analysis. The findings revealed that 1) the community problems could be categorized into five major issues: 1.1) a shortage of labor in the agricultural sector 1.2) limited marketing channels and product distribution opportunities 1.3) health-related problems and dependency among older adults 1.4) economic burdens and household indebtedness and 1.5) the prevalence of drug abuse and tobacco use among youth and 2) The community needs were also classified into five key areas: 2.1) comprehensive agricultural advisory services 2.2) support for online marketing and digital sales 2.3) improvement of the residential living environment 2.4) promotion of new vocational skills and career development and 2.5) the provision of creative spaces and constructive activities for young people.
