Study on Solid Waste Management in the Samakkhi Municipality Community Mueang District Yasothon Province

Abstract

This research consists purposes were to study the approach to solid waste management in the Ruam Jai Samakkhi Municipality community Mueang District Yasothon Province. is a qualitative research The research instrument is an interview form. The target group is 65 representatives of households in the Ruam Jai Samakkhi community who were selected purposively. The data collected from documents and interview forms were content analysis. The research results found that  the guidelines for solid waste management in the Samakkhi Municipality community Mueang District Yasothon Province, consist of 4 approaches: 1) Creating waste separation at the source: Waste separation at the source is the first important step in household and community waste management, which involves separating waste into different types from the beginning, such as houses, shops, or businesses in the community 2) Creating awareness and educating people in the community: Creating awareness and educating people in the community is an important process in sustainable waste management starting with providing information and knowledge to people in the Samakkhi Municipality community Mueang District Yasothon Province about waste problems and the impacts caused by improper waste disposal and organizing various activities such as training, community meetings or workshops. 3) Creating cooperation with local government agencies especially local administrative organizations that have direct authority and responsibility namely Yasothon Municipality will help make waste management in the community stronger and more systematic and 4) Creating Big Cleaning Day: Big Cleaning Day is an important activity to encourage people in the community to participate in maintaining cleanliness and waste management in the area.
