POTENTIAL AND ELEMENTS OF BICYCLE TOURISM IN EASTERN LANNA

Abstract
This article aimed research; to study the tourist potential and tourist composition for the bicycle path of Lanna Eastern part frontier by using mixed method research both quantitative and qualitative research method. For the quantitative research method, the data were collected from 100 subjects consisted of people who related to the service business in 3 areas; Phayao province, Nan province, and Chiangrai province. The qualitative research method, the data were collected by documentary analysis and interviewing 20 people who were relad with the bicycle society in the area of 3 provinces; Phayao province, Chiangrai province, and Nan province.
The research instruments were used namele : 1. The instruments for data collection consisted of notebook, camera, and recording device 2. The questionnaires for the business owners 3. The interview questions for interviewing the public sector, the business association. The data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation and content analysis.
The results revealed as follows;
The potential according to the tourist composition for bicycle path of Lanna’s Eastern part frontier was divided in to 7 aspects or 5ASM principles; 1) Attraction consisted of mountains, waterfalls, and rivers 2) Accessibility consisted of the travel facilities, tourist services and transportation. The tourist accessibility and the connection of transportation system were included. 3) Accommodation 4) Amenity such as facilities, souvenir shops, food and drink service as well as the modern technology attraction 5) Activities consisted of tourist activity services and tourist creation 6) Safety consisted of rules and guide posts and 7) Bicycle tourist management consisted of the participation of community administration and management. The result of evaluation, revealed that the evaluation results were at the highest level.
