LEADERSHIP OF LOCAL EXECUTIVES IN PROMOTING PUBLIC POLITICAL PARTICIPATION, HUAI MA SUB-DISTRICT, MUEANG PHRAE DISTRICT, PHRAE PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1. To study the level of leadership of local executives in promoting public political participation, Huai Ma SubDistrict, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province. 2. To study the relationship between Sappurisadhamma and the leadership of local executives in promoting people's political participation, Huai Ma Sub-District, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province, 3. To study the problems, obstacles, and suggestions regarding the leadership of local executives in promoting public political participation, Huai Ma Sub-District, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province. Mixed research methodology was used by the quantitative research using the sample research method, of 373 samples living at Huai Ma Sub-District, Muang Phrae District, Phrae Province, derived from a total population of 5,500 people, determined the size of the sample using the Taro Yamane’s formula. analyzed data by finding frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s Correlation Coefficients. The qualitative research, data were collected from 9 key informants, purposefully selected, with in-depth interview method, and analyzed data by content descriptive interpretation and presented in an essay form to enumerate the frequency distribution tables of key informants to support quantitative data.

Findings were as follows : 1. The level of leadership of local executives in promoting public political participation at Huai Ma Sub-District, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province with the average of all aspects was at moderate ( = 3.46, S.D. = 0.41). 2. The relationship between the Sappurisadhamma principles and the leadership of the local executives in promoting the political participation of the people. Huai Ma Sub-District, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province. There was a relatively high level of positive Correlation. (r=.761**).3. Problems, obstacles of leadership of local executivss in promoting public political participation at Huai Ma Sub-District, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province were found that some local executives had little knowledge. Therefore, it is not possible to give clear advice to the public as much as it should Lack of guidance on the loss of the people's right to exercise their right to vote. Suggestions It was found that local executives should study for adequate
knowledge and be able to give clear advice to the public.
