THAI DECORUM (SOMBUT PHUDEE) IN MODERATE POSTMODERN PARADIMG : AN NALYTIC, APPRECIATIVE AND APPLICATIVE APPROACH

Abstract
The objective of this research is to study a book, Thai Decorum (Sombat Phudee), in which recorded Thai ethical principles and to discover and interpret the concept of “noble (Phudee)” found in it. Thais ought to behave and treat each other according to these principles. This article is a part of author’s Ph.D. dissertation, Thai Decorum (Sombat Phudee) in Moderate Postmodern Paradigm : An Analytic, Appreciative and Applicative Approach.
The research findings are that the principles written in Thai Decorum (Sombat Phudee) could be Thai ethical principles in behaving in society to achieve good life and happiness for oneself and others. Also, the principles represent Thai identity, meaning that Thais could apply them in practice without considering regardless of their economic level, education level or status.
